Welcome to Cherokee Flats

Animal health, welfare, safety, husbandry, management and customer education are #1

All animals come well socialized, loved and pre spoiled.

And, We're home of the rabbitry/caviary management software, Who's Due.

Cherokee Flats will be CLOSED July 3-6, 2025

Pick Up appointments will be scheduled around our personal schedule. We make every attempt to accommodate  everyones schedule but sometimes that just isn't feasible. Hours of operation listed HERE are phone hours only. If no one answers, leave a message, DO NOT Text me, then call me, then email me, then FB message me, then Text me again. I will get back to you AS SOON AS I CAN. If you blow up my phone, I will NOT sell to you... EVER. Be respectful and understand that not everyone has the time THAT MINUTE to talk to you. We have lives outside of the farm and may not be in a position to reply to you or answer your call right away. Bottom line: DON'T BE A JERK.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING "ORPHANED" WILD RABBITS

In regards to wild rabbits you, your child, your husband or your dog.. may have found.

NO we will not take them, NO we won't help you find someone that might, NO you cannot keep them and raise them (they do horrible in captivity and WILL die if you attempt to nurse them twice a day (Dawn and Dusk), DO NOT remove them from the nest, DO NOT attempt to relocate them, DO NOT allow your children to "play" with them. JUST LEAVE THEM ALONE. Mom only comes once a day, usually at night. DO NOT remove them from the nest. Place a cheap laundry basket over the den opening and place a brick on top of it. Before going to bed, remove the brick and move the basket so mama can get in to her babies. Once their eyes are open, they are old enough to be on their own. DO NOT TOUCH THEM, don't feed them, leave them alone.

The fact that I even have to put this on our website is crazy. Use common sense, wild animals are WILD and should NEVER be taken from their natural habitats (there are very few exceptions to this rule btw)

All Animals MUST be paid for IN FULL and a signed purchase agreement returned to us before a pick-up date/time is scheduled no exceptions!!

Cherokee Flats will no longer hold any animal after purchase for any length of time past it's ready date. This means if you purchase an animal, it's 8 weeks old in 3 weeks, you MUST have your pick up scheduled in 3 weeks. If you animal is old enough to go now, you must schedule pick up within 3 business days or you will be charged $45.00/day/rabbit or $20.00/day/rat boarding and care fee. Animals will NOT leave here until that has been paid.

For important updates and information, please visit HERE

We do not produce any animal we raise here in mass. We breed for what we need first and anything after that is sold directly to consumers. Please READ the entire website before contacting us. A lot of questions can be answered by visiting our FAQ page.

Cherokee Flats is private property, at no time is anyone allowed to just "show up" and expect to purchase any animals we have here. We do not always have stock available and therefore it would be a complete waste of your time as well as ours. On the off change we had stock, you MUST make arrangements ahead of time and same day (cash-in-hand) sales are prohibited.

If you show up to our property unannounced, you will be asked to leave and to find another place to purchase the animals you are looking for.

At no time will we be guilt-tripped into selling an animal to anyone for any reason. We have rules and they must be followed. NO EXCEPTIONS.

At no time will we knowingly sell any animal as a gift especially for a child. Nope...not happening. Go to walmart and go to the toy aisle and get them a stuffed bunny for easter or whatever. ANIMALS ARE NOT PRESENTS!!!!

Cherokee Flats is not legally obligated to take in ANY animal whether we raise it here or not. We are NOT a rescue or shelter. If you have any animals that need new homes, please contact your local vet or rescue group for assistance.

We are a small farm and do not breed in mass quantities. We breed for what we need and anything left is sold. For feeders, I offer what I have when I have it at reasonable prices but am unable to provide mass amounts of any animal we have. We prefer to stay small so that we can provide specialized service to our customers.

Thank you again for your understanding.
